History

The department has had its existence since the inception (1960) of the institute and since then it has been contributing significantly in the overall development of the personality of the aspiring engineering graduate by making them adept in the skill of speaking English Language and building good communication skills. English is the language of performers at all levels; interaction and exchange of ideas in the corporate sector mainly take place in English only. It is a great tool of communication, research and development. Thus by helping the students become proficient in English Language the department plays an important part in the placement and career of students.

Objective

To impart conceptual knowledge of English language, communication skills. confidence building and strengthening of character - for its proper utilization by engineering graduates at different phases in their academics and career.
