Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering at Samrat Ashok Technological Institute (Engg. College) Vidisha (M.P.). The Department of Electrical Engineering is one of the oldest department established in the year 1960. At present, the department offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Electrical Engineering. The Department has well equipped laboratories in the area of Electrical Machines,  Power Systems, Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Measurements, Power Electronics & Drives, Microprocessor and Embedded System. The Department has software computing facilities with latest software and high speed Internet connection to support modeling and simulation work. The Department is actively engaged in research, consultancy and testing in the area of Electrical Engineering.

Department offers postgraduate courses in Electrical Engineering with specialization “Power Electronics”. The department is regularly publishing research papers/articles in international/national journals/conferences. Department has experienced and learned faculty members, a very good infrastructure, all the important laboratories are acquired with latest facilities/ equipment. Since its starting till date its student have achieved very good positions in various Government, semi Government corporate, public and private sectors. Many students have qualified in GATE, GRE, and MBA examination and got jobs in reputed organizations through campus recruitment. Besides teaching with innovative methods, department gives special attention towards curricular and extracurricular activities for student personality development. The department has organized many national seminars, conferences and workshops expert lectures on current and important topics. 

Alumni of the department are serving at top-level positions in all major sectors of the state/central government and private organizations across the globe including NAVRATNA companies.

The department was accredited in years 2002 and 2012 by National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi. 

OBJECTIVE

The main Objectives of the Department-

• Contribute the best engineers in the field of Energy.
• Better understanding of Electrical Engineering by strengthen of fundamentals of Electrical Engineering students.
• Motivate students for research.
• Encourage students for Entrepreneurship.
• Encourage innovative ideas & its implementation in Electrical Engineering.
• Encourage students to popularize Energy Saving.

The program educational objectives of the Electrical Engineering Program at Samrat Ashok Technological Institute are that its graduates could demonstrate the following essential components of a successful engineer and/or consultant within  four years of graduation:

• To train the students of Electrical Engineering program so that they can work with government or private sector companies responsible for development of power sector & prove themselves in electrical maintenance for the industry.
• To train students of Electrical Engineering program who can contribute to teaching profession, research & development by pursuing higher studies.
• To train students of Electrical Engineering program in a manner that they should function effectively in the multicultural and multidisciplinary groups in their practice of Electrical Engineering profession.
