The Department of Information Technology at SATI was established in the year 2000 with the intake of 60 seats of Bachelor of Engineering. Subsequently, the Department started the courses of Master of Technology in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence and with the intake of 18 seats in 2002 and Master of Technology in Software Systems with intake of 18 seats in 2010. The department is well equipped with modern up-to-date laboratory facilities. The faculty is well qualified with specializations in diversified areas. Being an autonomous institute, the curriculum is being updated with input from industries and reputed educational institutions regularly. Department has an excellent placement record and graduates are well placed and play leading role in different organizations and Industries. The department also provided PhD research guidance through QIP scheme RGPV and BU Bhopal. Currently the department is running B.Tech in IT, IoT and AIADS with 60 intake in each. |

| The main objective of establishing the department of Information Technology is to promote research and development, industrial consultancy, and teaching in the frontier areas of Information Technology and Information technologies enabled service. The courses offered by us are part of it which prepares young graduates and postgraduates to take state of art challenges as required by the industry and RD organizations. |
| Information Technology is a field that continues to evolve at a rate faster than other disciplines. The department continues to contribute to advances in Information Technology which is striving to improve its position. |
